Recent Development in Printing -- Series- 1
( N.R. Jayaraman)
Recently I read a new development in printing. Read below to gain knowledge:-
One of the recent development in the field of printing has been from a firm called Apex Machine Company which has developed an Offset machine under Trade name 'FLEXAPEX' which utilizes modified flexographic inking technologies and UV
(ultraviolet) cured inks in combination with Dry Offset Printing process.
The process uses solvent free UV
cured liquid inks and it is increasingly replacing solvent based ink
technologies such as pad printing and gravure as well as providing a low cost
alternative to silkscreen printing for high volume products.
According to the firm the technique has capability of transferring large volumes of ink for the printing
of dense artworks and solids, thus offering great potential for improved quality
of solids and for the printing of light colored inks onto dark substrates on higher speeds. A
further benefit of the FlexApex process is highly predictable quality and
density repeatability on re-runs.
Further the firm claims that Flexapex can also be combined with conventional dry offset printing in the same
machine thus offering the best of both worlds. For more information visit the following site :
